Teams may submit an optional short paper for the MICCAI 2026 Satellite Event Springer LNCS proceedings.

Submitting a Springer proceedings paper is not required for challenge participation or AMPLIFAI award eligibility. All teams must still submit the mandatory Public Method Overview described above.

Accepted proceedings papers will be published through the MICCAI Satellite Event proceedings process. The proceedings track is for presentation at the MICCAI 2026 Satellite Event. All accepted papers will be presented at the Satellite Event as an in-person oral or poster presentation.

AMPLIFAI dataset preprint and citation

The AMPLIFAI dataset preprint is now available on arXiv. We have provided its citation for your reference: AMPLIFAI: A Multiphase CT Dataset for Benchmarking Clinical Reasoning in LI-RADS Assessment of Liver Lesions (Kulkarni et al., 2026).

Intent to submit

Teams planning to submit a proceedings paper must complete the Intent-to-Submit form by August 10, 2026.

The intent form collects the provisional paper title, author list, contact information, and reviewer conflicts.

Complete the AMPLIFAI Proceedings Intent-to-Submit Form

Submitting the intent form is not the same as submitting the manuscript. Titles and author information may be updated before the initial manuscript deadline.

Paper format

Proceedings submissions must:

• Use the Springer LNCS template.
• Be 6 to 11 pages in total.
• Include the title, abstract, figures, tables, acknowledgments, disclosures, appendices, and references within the page limit.
• Contain significant scientific and technical content.

There is no fixed limit on figures or tables, but everything must fit within the page limit and meet Springer’s requirements for clarity, legibility, captions, and image quality. Figure text should remain legible. Vector graphics are recommended for diagrams where possible.

Expected manuscript content

The paper must primarily describe the method used in the team’s current active submission on the leaderboard as of the initial manuscript deadline, including:

• Overall methodology and model architecture.
• Data preprocessing.
• Training strategy and loss functions.
• Inference and postprocessing.
• Use of external datasets or pretrained models.
• Validation experiments and relevant ablation studies.
• Reproducibility and implementation details.
• Limitations and known failure modes.

Teams may revise their manuscript in response to reviewer feedback before the camera-ready deadline.

The camera-ready submission must be final. Springer does not permit substantive changes to results, methods, titles, or authorship during the later proofing stage.

Review process

Each proceedings submission will be evaluated by:

• Two reviewers.
• One meta-reviewer.
• The AMPLIFAI Proceedings Chairs, who will make the final acceptance decision.

The proceedings will use a single-blind review process. Reviewers and meta-reviewers will be able to see the authors’ identities, while reviewer and meta-reviewer identities will remain confidential.

For accepted papers, the OpenReview submission page, anonymized reviews, and meta-review may be made publicly available as part of the MICCAI Satellite Event publication process.

Proceedings-paper acceptance is independent of final challenge leaderboard performance. Challenge ranking is based on the published AMPLIFAI evaluation procedure.

Springer requires the review process to be described in the proceedings front matter.

Presentation opportunities

All accepted papers will be presented at the AMPLIFAI Satellite Event at MICCAI 2026 as an in-person oral or poster presentation, alongside the final challenge winners.

One accepted submission will be selected for the AMPLIFAI Best Proceedings Paper Award based on scientific quality, technical soundness, relevance to AMPLIFAI, reproducibility, and clarity of presentation.

These decisions are made independently:

• Proceedings-paper acceptance.
• Oral or poster presentation selection.
• Best Proceedings Paper selection.
• Final challenge ranking.
• Challenge-award selection.

Timeline

Initial manuscript submission

Authors must submit through the AMPLIFAI OpenReview proceedings portal:

• Manuscript PDF.
• Finalized submission metadata.
• Author information.
• Abstract and keywords.
• External-resource disclosure.
• One optional supplementary PDF if additional material is needed.

Supplementary material must be submitted as a single self-contained PDF. It will be provided to reviewers and may be made publicly available if the paper is accepted. Supplementary material must not be used to circumvent the manuscript page limit or omit information necessary to understand the primary method.

Springer accepts supplementary PDFs, but the files must be final because its typesetters do not edit supplementary material.

Camera-ready requirements for accepted papers

Accepted-paper authors must provide:

• Final manuscript PDF.
• Complete LaTeX or Microsoft Word source files.
• Bibliography files.
• Figures and associated source materials.
• One supplementary PDF, if applicable.
• Final title and abstract.
• Final author list and affiliations.
• Corresponding-author name and email.
• ORCIDs, where available.
• Signed Springer licence-to-publish form.

Additional Springer requirements

• The manuscript must identify exactly one corresponding author and include that author’s email address.
• The corresponding author must sign the Springer licence-to-publish form on behalf of all authors.
• The licence-to-publish form must be signed by hand and returned as a scanned PDF; digital signatures are not accepted.
• The final author list, author order, and corresponding author must be confirmed before delivery to Springer. Authorship changes cannot be made after the paper has been delivered for publication.
• Word source files must be provided as macro-free .docx files. .docm files are not accepted.
• LaTeX submissions must include all .tex, .bib or .bbl, figure, style, and other source files required to compile the manuscript.
• The final PDF must correspond exactly to the submitted source files.
• Every manuscript must include a Disclosure of Interests section. Authors must either declare relevant competing interests or explicitly state that they have no competing interests relevant to the paper.
• Authors must provide or review appropriate alternative text for figures, illustrations, and image-based tables.
• Authors are responsible for obtaining any necessary permission to reproduce third-party figures, tables, text, or other copyrighted material.
• The corresponding author must remain available to review the Springer proof. Proof corrections are limited to production or typesetting errors and cannot introduce new methods, results, title changes, or authorship changes.
